A lovestory

A story from decades ago.He went from here to Nepal. He met a girl there. They became friends.Friendship blossomed into love.Love became life for them. They decided to be together forever. They were alone in this decision. They didnt inform their parents about it.Since,he was from India,he had all sorts of restrictions.
"I will let it know at the right time",was his assurance. That right time passed by.He told his mother everything. She disagreed to everything. She forbid the marriage.
She was longing for him.He was there for her.It continued to be so.
He recieved a telegram one day.It said,"Mother serious,start immeditely".He wrote a letter to her.He begged for forgiveness.
"I am going to India.Forget me.Forgive me.",it said.
Those days it took many days to travel. He came to his palce via train.Mother was no more.Later a call came from Nepal. After reading his letter. She was no more too

LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP

My friend isnt back from the battlefield,Sir.Request permission to go out and get him."

"Permission refused," said the officer."I dont want you to risk your life for a man who is probably
dead."

The soldier went all the same, and, finally was granted permission. An hour later, came back mortally wounded, carrying the corpse of his friend.

The officer was furious."I told you he was dead. Now i've lost both of you.Tell me,was it worth going out there to bring in a corpse?"

The dying man replied,"Oh! it was,Sir.When i got to him he was still alive."

And he said to me,'JACK,I WAS SURE YOU'D COME FOR ME."

I am doing all this for you only!

Jay works for a bakery. He looks after his wife and three kids from the meagre salary. All day after his play with the bread dough,he goes to evening college to earn graduation. He is of the opinion that if he gets his graduation,he could find a better job and look after his family well.Only his whole sunday time is reserved for his family. His family enjoys a lot during that time.Other days,it is only work and studies for Jay.

His kids always complain,"You dont spend much time with us as other fathers".His wife always nags,"You dont have time for me".Jays replies with a smile all the time,"I am doing all this for you only".

The results came out one fine day.Jay is graduate now.Even before he searches for another job,the manager of the bakery he works, promoted him to the position of supervisor doubling his salary.Jay's all dreams started becoming true.

Jay now takes his wife and kids out for posh hotels, multiplexes, malls during his sundays and buys them best of things.Yet the amount of time he spends with his family his becoming less day by day due to his added responsibilities.

Jay now thinks that if only he could finish another course, his career prospectus increases. He joins Hotel management course. He works all day and studies at nights.Kids complain.Wife nags.Jay replies with a smile,"I am doing all this for you only".

Jay's efforts have not gone in vain.He holds a degree in hotel management now. Many offers on plate. But the owner of the bakery he works promoted him to manager's position doubling the salary.
Jay has house maids for his wife, car for his family and can afford expensive things for his home. But Jay wants to own a house as the house he now stays is rented.

Jay knows that hard work always pays.So he has joined another course and is working 24x7 to realize his dreams. The bakery owner's business has branched out and has become much bigger.Jay is promoted to the top most position of the firm now.

The firm owner builds a new hotel as business expansion with Jay's partnership. Now Jay is not even free during sundays and is not even bothered spending time with family because of high responsibilities.

Kid complain.Wife nags.Jay replies with a smile,"I am doing all this for you only".

After a few years,he buys an expensive home in a posh area. There is a house warming ceremony where creamiest of the people from society have gathered.Jay is elated. All his dreams have come true. After the function,he lets know his family that he no longer wanted to work or study too much. From then on,the maximum of his time is reserved for family.

Kids rejoiced.Wife started making plans.Jay replies with a smile,"I did all this for you only."

That night Jay slept peacefully like he had not done in so many years.

THE NEXT DAY JAY DIDNT GET UP!

Peter and The Magic Thread

A wonderful tale to get wise from Robin Sharma's world famous book "The monk who sold his ferrari".Am posting it just the way it is from the book and only Mr.Robin Sharma owns each and every word posted below.

When I was a young boy, my father loved to read me a fairy tale known as 'Peter and the Magic Thread.' Peter was a very lively little boy. Everyone loved him: his family, his teachers and his friends. But he did have one weakness."
"What was that?"
"Peter could never live in the moment He had not learned to enjoy the process of life. When he was in school, he dreamed of being outside playing. When he was outside playing he dreamed of his summer vacation. Peter constantly daydreamed, never taking the time to savor the special moments that filled his days.
One morning, Peter was out walking in a forest near his home. Feeling tired, he decided to rest on a patch of grass and eventually dozed off. After only a few minutes of deep sleep, he heard someone
calling his name. 'Peter! Peter!' came the shrill voice from above. As he slowly opened his eyes, he was startled to see a striking woman standing above him. She must have been over a hundred
years old and her snow-white hair dangled well below her shoulders like a matted blanket of wool. In this woman's wrinkled hand was a magical little ball with a hole in the center and out of the hole dangled a long, golden thread.
"Peter,' she said, this is the thread of your life. If you pull the thread just a bit, an hour will pass in seconds. If you pull a little harder, whole days will pass in minutes. And if you pull with all your might, months — even years — will pass by in days.'
Peter grew very excited at this discovery. 'I'd like to have it if I may?' he asked. The elderly woman quickly reached down and gave the ball with the magic thread to the young boy. The next day, Peter was sitting in the classroom feeling restless and bored. Suddenly, he remembered his new toy.
As he pulled a little bit of the golden thread, he quickly found himself at home, playing in his garden. Realizing the power of the magic thread, Peter soon grew tired of being a schoolboy and longed to
be a teenager, with all the excitement that phase of life would bring. So again he pulled out the ball and pulled hard on the golden thread.
Suddenly he was a teenager with a very pretty young girlfriend named Elise. But Peter still wasn't content. He had never learned to enjoy the moment and to explore the simple wonders of every stage of his life. Instead, he dreamed of being an adult.
So again he pulled on the thread and many years whizzed by in an instant. Now he found that he had been transformed into a middle-aged adult. Elise was now his wife and Peter was surrounded with a houseful of kids. But Peter also noticed something else. His once jet black hair had started to turn grey. And his once youthful mother whom he loved so dearly had grown old and frail. Yet Peter still could not live in the moment. He had never learned to 'live in the now' So, once again, he pulled on the magic thread and waited for the changes to appear.Peter now found that he was a ninety-year-old man. His thick dark hair had turned white as snow and his beautiful young wife Elise had also grown old and had passed away a few years earlier. His wonderful children had grown up and left home to lead lives of their own.
For the first time in his entire life, Peter realized that he had not taken the time to embrace the wonders of living. He had never gone fishing with his kids or taken a moonlight stroll
with Elise. He had never planted a garden or read those wonderful books his mother had loved to read. Instead, he had hurried through life, never resting to see all that was good along the way.Peter became very sad at this discovery.
He decided to go out to the forest where he used to walk as a boy to clear his head and warm his spirit. As he entered the forest, he noticed that the little saplings of his childhood had grown into mighty oaks. The forest itself had matured into a paradise of nature. He lay down on a small patch of grass and fell into a deep slumber.
After only a minute, he heard someone calling out to him. 'Peter! Peter!' cried the voice. He looked up in astonishment to see that it was none  other than the old woman who had given him the ball with the magic golden thread many years earlier.
'How have you enjoyed my special gift?' she asked. Peter was direct in his reply.'At first it was fun but now I hate it. My whole life has passed before my eyes without giving me the chance to enjoy it. Sure,
there would have been sad times as well as great times but I haven't had the chance to experience either. I feel empty inside. I have missed the gift of living.' 'You are very ungrateful,' said the old woman. 'Still, I will give you one last wish.'
Peter thought for an instant and then answered hastily. 'I'd like to go back to being a schoolboy and live my life over again.' He then returned to his deep sleep. Again he heard someone calling his name and opened his eyes.'Who could it be this time?' he wondered.
When he opened his eyes, he was absolutely delighted to see his mother standing over his bedside. She looked young, healthy and radiant. Peter realized that the strange woman of the forest had indeed granted his wish and he had returned to his former life. 'Hurry up Peter. You sleep too much. Your dreams will make you late for school if you don't get up right this minute,' his mother admonished.
Needless to say, Peter dashed out of bed on this morning and began to live the way he had hoped. Peter went on to live a full life, one rich with many delights, joys and triumphs, but it all started when he stopped sacrificing the present for the future and began to live in the moment.

People! Live each and every present moment of your life in a responsible manner and in a manner that comes under the definiton of happiness of your life.No two moments of your life are same, for they will be as they are supposed to be..

The Laughing Saints

There were three Chinese saints.Nobody knew their name.Everyone called them "laughing saints" because they used to do nothing but laugh all the time. They used to wander from one place to another. They used to stand in the mid of the market and start laughing loudly without any reason. They had pot bellys and whenever they laughed their bellys would bounce up and down.Seeing this, the whole market would go crazy and filled with laughter. The three saints used to do this roaming whole of the China as they had made a covenant to make people laugh till they die.Sad people, angry people, misers-everybody alike used to have change in attitude because of these saints.People loved and respected them a lot.
One fine day,one of the saint died.Everyone were sad and thought, the other two would stop laughing from then on and hence they would also lose the chance to laugh often. But people were surprised to see them dancing and laughing;celebrating their friend's death.
People ridiculed,"This is too much! Dancing and laughing in front of a friend's dead body is utter disrespect".
Saints said,"You dont know anything. We had a bet among us as to who would die first. Our friend won.So we are celebrating. We have laughed with him all life. What better way to send him off than laughing? It is true way of showing him the respect he deserves".
To perform the last rights, the people were about to give the dead body a bath. But the saints stopped and said,"It is our friend's last wish to be put to pyre just the way he died, without removing the clothes he is wearing. We have to honor his wish".
So the dead body was put on the pyre.As soon as that happened, firecrackers started busting out of the pyre one after the another into the sky.The other two saints started laughing and dancing more.Seeing this some people couldnt control their laughter and some couldnt help but smile atleast.Soon the funeral environment which was supposed to be a mourning moment turned into a happy scene with beautiful fireworks display.
THE DEAD SAINT HAD PREACHED THE IMPORTANCE OF LAUGHTER AND SMILE EVEN IN HIS DEATH!

Father and 'The Son'

That old man had a heart attack. He was lying on the hospital bed.The chances of him surviving was very less owing to the severity of the attack. There seemed to be nobody from his family side.He was murmuring ,"Son,Son", in his half conscious state.

Nurse who was taking care of him thought of bringing her son to him as he didnt have much time. She came out of the ward and saw a young man standing, staring at the ward door, looking worried.

She went to him said,"Why did you come so late?Your father has been yearning to see you.He doesnt have much time.He needs you.Come, come, lets go."

She dragged the young man by his arms to the old man and whispered in his ears,"See,your son has come".

The old man opened his eyes slowly. His face lit up and tears rolled from the corner of his eyes as he saw the young man.The old man put his right hand forward as if wanting to hold the hands of the young man.The youngman smiled, came forward and held his hands affectionately. As they looked at each other,it seemd a silent conversation was taking place.

The young man sat beside the old man and held his hands all night long, listened to the old man when he was trying to talk with lots of difficulty. After a long time, the old man said with shaking voice,"Son,i have longed to hold your hands like this always in my life. But you left us for a silly reason.I havent held anything like this ever with so much love."

The young man had tears in his eyes,as he listened and watched the old man silently.By dawn the old man had breathed his last. The young man looked out for the nurse and informed her about the death.

She responded with a sad tone,"Oh! This is terrible. He looked so hopeful after you came. But please dont take it into heart. We cant fight death".

The young man sighed and said,"Yeah you are right. But can you please tell me who was that person?"

The nurse was puzzled and for a moment thought maybe his father's death had left him out of spin. She said,"Young man, please console yourselves. Why are you saying things like this? The dead man is your father.Isn't it?"

He replied,"No madam,I genuinely dont know who that man is.I AM NOT HIS SON."

She asked him in a state of shock and dibelief over her foolishness,"Then, why didn't you let me know that in the first place when i took you to him.You were standing outside the ward worried.I thought you were his son!"

He responded,"Its ok madam.I had come here to visit someone else and i was just standing outside thinking about my friend. You didnt let me give an explaination and just dragged me to him. When i saw the old man my heart went out for him.He was sure to die but it seemd was longing to see his son because he was not even in a position to recognize that i was not his son, when i stood in front of him.All night he tried to convey how much he loved his son ;and how he had left him and his wife over a trivial matter. He also had lost his wife it seems. His last wish,it seemed was to see his son a last time.Since he was about to die,i didnt wanna break his heart letting him know i wasnt his son.I LET THE OLD MAN DIE PEACEFULLY THINKING HE HAD MET HIS SON."
